The Freedom Church invited us to return and put together contour-cut lighted logo signs in Whittier, CA. You may remember that we initially collaborated with this client on printed wallpaper, huge wall graphics, and transformative wall wraps for the congregation’s kids’ ministry rooms.
The church has classrooms in two adjacent buildings. It needed a way to show visitors and new members where these buildings were located. After discussing the project, the client decided on two contour-cut logo signs with illumination.
Our technicians printed translucent graphics using our late-model HP700W printer, which allows us to use white ink. As a result, we were able to put down three layers of ink, which is called a color/white/color (or sandwich) print. It simply means that the printer goes over each print pass three times.
The first pass is in color, followed by white ink and another color pass. The result is a colorful display that prevents the display from looking washed out when the LEDs come on. Concurrently, the white print layer prevents the colors from looking oversaturated when LEDs are not on. By using high-quality cast translucent vinyl made by 3M, we could present the client with a spectacular lighted sign that is sure to last a long time.
Notably, few sign shops have the know-how or technology to create a color/white/color print.
You are probably thinking about the glass wall wraps and graphics we did for the Gudetama Café. There, we used 3M 40c clear vinyl that we imprinted first with white ink and later with colorful inks. It made it possible to see the graphics from the other side in reverse, giving the windows that stained-glass appeal the client liked. Failure to do so would have resulted in a colorful side and a gray-backed side that would have lacked the attractive ambiance.
You may not need a contour cut lighted logo sign in Whittier or surrounding areas. However, even without illumination, signs displaying a logo contour are ideal for assisting with wayfinding and advertising. Our technicians can use a number of materials for this purpose. Examples include aluminum, acrylic, or composites. Moreover, creating a large contour-cut logo is an excellent way for a business to draw the eye of passersby and drivers.
