Like a fresh coat of paint only much more durable!
Loyal readers of our blog know that Cal State Fullerton is a client who is near and dear to the professionals at Superior Signs and Graphics. In the past, we had installed the university’s stadium vinyl wall wrap, which took older foam letters and plywood signage from the soccer team’s area and transformed the look with our sleek and modern vinyl product. The school’s athletic department was so happy that they once again called us when it was time to tackle the next beautification project. This time, the school’s administration wanted us to work on the gym’s exterior wall.
What a difference these wraps make!
This is the concessions and ticket stand area. Visitors to the games, parents and alumni routinely see this wall, and it was time to dramatically change its look. But in addition to providing a modern and professional appearance, this vinyl wall project also serves as an overhead signage solution for the two distinctive stands. Although it would be possible to add separate signage with lettering or cabinets, the cohesive appearance that the school is looking for called for the incorporation of the informative components into the wall project. Could we do it? You bet!
The surface is made of brick and mortar. Proper prepping techniques called for high pressure water and deep-cleaning brushes. Once the wall was cleaned, we gave it 24 hours to completely dry. Next, we began the wrapping process. Wall wraps for school gyms in Orange County are gaining in popularity, because they make it possible to add attractive style elements into the look. This is not something that a paint bucket and brush can deliver. We relied on Arlon DPF 6700 specialty cast vinyl, which is famous for its superior adhesion. At a height of 14 feet and a width of 40 feet, this wall called for ten vertical panels, which were applied with heat.
The installation was a breeze!
When you take a close look at the design of the wrap, it quickly becomes evident that this is an aesthetically pleasing product that not only brands the Titans but also offers some marketing messages in the process. Subliminal background palm tree images give this look a depth that is attractive and hints at the location of the school. The university’s staff designed the concessions and tickets graphics. There are pictures of snacks, hot dogs, sodas and candy underneath the Titan concessions window. Its overhead signage is orange with white lettering. The same is true for the ticket window marker. Underneath the latter, there are close-up graphics of blue elephant skin, which represents Tuffy, the school’s famous elephant mascot.
As you can see, Orange County school wall wraps do more than merely beautify a larger wall space. They market, brand and incorporate local design elements into the mix. At the same time, they offer a long-lasting surface treatment that is budget-friendly. Have you been thinking of treating one or more gym areas with wall wraps? For school concession stands in Orange County as well as ticket offices, will-call windows and equipment rental shops, this is a superior product that does not disappoint.
