Last year, our sign shop worked with Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED) to produce a couple of building signs in Buena Park. At that time, we also put together directional signage. Last Saturday, CED took over a new facility at 4309 District Boulevard in Vernon. They needed a new building sign in Los Angeles in time for a company event taking place Friday. Could we do it? You bet!
We frequently tell our clients that we gladly take on their rush orders. Some are not sure what to expect. For CED, our staff had to get the sign permitted, fabricated, and installed in time for the event. This requires teamwork, spotless project management, and highly-trained technicians.
While our office staff handled the permitting aspect of the product, our technicians went to work on fabricating the sign. Since we had the client’s specs on file, putting the design together was quick. The resulting product consisted of 42-inch-tall letters that we painted to match the desired brand color.
By the time the paint was dry, the permit had come in. Now it was time for our installers to shine. We knew that we could get this project done because we have the equipment necessary to do even trickier installations. Our installation specialists removed the previous tenant’s sign and installed the new CED sign on Thursday, a day ahead of the planned event.
It is fair to say that the client was impressed and amazed by the quick turnaround of their signage order.
While we were there, we also took the time to install window lettering that our technicians had printed and custom-cut. It features the company’s name, logo, contact information, and identifies the location as the new CED Metro Los Angeles branch. While the installers worked on the building sign, we had a technician prepare the glass surfaces and apply the vinyl window letters.
When you are taking over the location that was previously home to another company, customers must make the connection between your products, services, and brand message right away. Therefore, we suggest that business owners invest in a building sign and window graphics that build on the message the lettering on the facade sends.
In this case, it repeated the name and logo but added valuable information that the would-be customer searching for the company had to know. It also helped the business begin a brand conversation and give the consumer a chance to connect. Of course, you do not have to limit yourself to a building sign and window graphics. Some clients also request a new or updated monument sign, pylon, or tenant panel at this point.
