A returning client, the Oncology Institute of Hope & Innovation opened its newest location at 3300 East South Street. The management team called us to put together their non-illuminated monument sign in Long Beach, CA.
The client is taking over a new site. The prior tenant left a post and panel sign behind to serve as the monument. However, that sign was nearing the end of its useful life. Advertising with this signage product is critical because the property is rather set back on a busy street, making it challenging to find.
For this project, we designed a product that would catch the attention of passersby. While our technicians fabricated the sign using half-inch-thick opaque white acrylic lettering that they laser cut, our office handled the permitting process. With the permit in hand and the acrylic stud mounted to the aluminum signage body, we installed the monument.
Note that we painted the finished product blue, which will match the building’s exterior that is currently being painted. It looks ideally suited for the location and draws attention to the client’s new clinic.
We have done a lot of work for The Oncology Institute. Examples include mission and values wall panels, a timeline wall, and a long-lasting building sign. We traveled to the client’s Los Angeles, Cerritos, and San Bernardino locations. Because we keep our clients’ specs on file, our technicians and graphic artist can immediately access color details and font selections. It cuts down on the design time. At the same time, this process ensures that branding is cohesive across various locations.
The monument sign rarely reaches eye height. It is a low-to-the-ground sign that is aimed at drivers and passersby. For many businesses, a monument is necessary when the storefront is not easily seen from the street. Others like to place a monument sign near the street to slow down drivers searching for the business. While drivers might not make U-turns to shop, they will enter the parking lot with enough advanced notice.
Which signage setup is right for your business? Signage can be like the non-illuminated monument sign in Long Beach, as we did for this client. Other clients prefer to have a product that lights up after dark. It is an excellent attention-getter, particularly on a busy street. Others like to incorporate a monument sign with upgraded landscaping. You frequently see these products at the entrances to covenant-controlled neighborhoods.
