Amazon’s latest project was a set of word wall graphics in Orange County, CA. They would go into the SBD2 facility and spell out welcome messages in a variety of languages. Because Amazon has a diverse employee base, this design is one of our clients’ favorites.

We had previously developed a custom word wall wrap design for Amazon’s SBD6 center and also the POC1 facility. It is interesting to note that these welcome word wall graphics have three things in common:

Amazon is among a growing number of businesses that display welcome word wall graphics in a variety of languages. For starters, this type of setup creates an inclusive environment. Seeing a message of welcome in a visitor’s native language makes them feel seen and respected. For the brand, it signals that the company values and welcomes diversity on every level.
As a result, a multilingual presentation easily strengthens customer (and employee) connections. Being addressed in the language someone grew up with reduces barriers while building trust, which is critical in multicultural business communities. On an emotional level, a simple acknowledgement of a foreign language will likely make your brand memorable. And, because a welcome word wall in a variety of languages creates a visual representation of a company’s values, it reinforces the brand’s positioning in the global community.

You already know that we customize signage solutions for our clients. Doing so is smart because it pinpoints a brand-centric setup that resonates with employees and customers. When designing word wall graphics in Orange County, Los Angeles County, and beyond, we dig deeper to understand what the client is looking for.
For example, will the word wall become a focal point to create an inviting space? Does it take on the look and feel of a brand-centric art installation that sets the tone for a visitor’s first impression? Are you looking for ways to spark conversations between visitors and employees that are not necessarily sales-driven? Each approach seeks to make the environment memorable; however, each accomplishes subtly different goals.
