Cal State Fullerton added another unique space to its Student Union building. Previously, we assisted the client with retro wall graphics and a 50th anniversary wall wrap for the space. The newest space is the Zen Lounge, a quiet, serene place to study or relax. For room branding, the client requested frosted glass graphics, a reception desk wrap, and a 3D acrylic logo sign.

Look closely, and you notice that we mounted the logo sign to an aluminum composite panel. Our technicians used black aluminum composite so the back of the sign blends in seamlessly with the black room divider we mounted it on. Because the client had a soft opening planned for the start of the fall semester, we completed the project—from start to finish—in just 10 days! The client loved the way these elements branded the Zen Den.
Room branding uses wall and window graphics, custom-printed wallpaper, logo signs, and similar elements. They transform a space from nondescript to a branded reflection of an organization’s identity. For schools, that might include mascots; corporations tend to use the company’s color palette, taglines, logo, and mission statements.
You can brand any room at your location. Examples include corporate offices, reception areas, classrooms, executive spaces, meeting rooms, and any space where customers interact with your brand.

Room branding imbues a space with your organization’s identity. It supports brand awareness and helps customers build brand knowledge. As a result, it makes sense to brand individual spaces to engage customers, visitors, and employees with your business.
You can incorporate branding elements into an existing interior design or decor. However, it is a good idea to discuss your plans with our graphic artist to find a seamless way of integrating these pieces. For example, we can work around existing color schemes, architectural features, lighting, and furniture. The Cal State Fullerton case study shows how we used black aluminum composite panels to blend in with room dividers of the same hue.

When you combine a room’s purpose with an expertly designed interior branding setup, it helps customers understand your company’s mission, vision, and overall identity. Concurrently, it makes your spaces more welcoming and your brand easier to understand and appreciate.
